SOME WEDNESDAY CHEER

Like most of the working population, I'm not a huge fan of Wednesdays. I've come to think of them as quite the bore. It's mid-week; the weekend seems so far and yet you're still recovering from last Saturday's night out. Not to mention, there's not much on t.v tonight!

What I like to do to stay from going crazy is to cheer myself up with a little somethin' somethin'. I hope this makes you smile like it did for me:

Enjoy the rest of your week. Until Saturday, try to stay positive and focused. But above all, stay happy :)

MY NEWEST OBSESSION? STATEMENT JEWELLERY

Over the last week and a half, I've been admiring magazine pictures and online catalogs of jewellery pieces, and what has attracted me most are the large rings, longer than long necklaces, and heavy bangles and bracelets. The saying "go big, or go home" applies to my newest obsession - jewellery.

Bebe's Hammered Metal Cuff

Marciano's Sherstin Chainmail Earrings

H&M's Double Chain Necklace

Topshop's Metal Encased Pearl Ring

Aldo's Schaul Bangles

FOLLOWING: KATRINA AND KARENA

Let's just say, I've been obsessed with Katrina Hodgson and Karena Dawn for a while now.

One of the the things I've been doing all summer is read Tone It Up! - a fitness and healthy
lifestyle blog that was created by Katrina and Karena (fitness and nutrition professionals who also happen to be best friends). Now I'm not a crazy fitness individual....I'm not even sure when the last time I worked out was! But I do try to eat as healthy as possible most of the time, and following Katrina and Karena has made eating healthy more FUN.

What got me hooked to this blog were Katrina and Karena's online personas. I came across these two dynamic and interesting women on (can you guess) Youtube. I think they're relatable, fun show just the right amount of quirky to keep you wanting more.

Check out the Tone It Up blog or subscribe to them on Youtube :)

MOODY MONDAYS

Today could not have started any better. MY SHOES THAT I HAVE BEEN COVETING FOR ALMOST A YEAR BUT LOST THE CHANCE TO BUY BECAUSE I TOOK TOO LONG TO MAKE A MOVE WHICH MADE ME DEPRESSED UP UNTIL NOW FINALLY CAME!!!!!

Yup, that's right. my black, Riley Satin Pump platforms from Bebe are here. And I could not be happier. Take a look.
(sorry for the poor photo. I took it on my phone)
I've been dying to own these shoes since last Christmas when I saw them on Bebe's website. As I've said in past posts (particularly here in Wishing We Had Another Chance), I usually miss opportunities to buy shoes I desperately want because I take too long to make a decision. I thought I lost the chance to own these Riley pumps, but as luck would have it, they showed up again online.
I guess some wishes do come true.
If you're like me and love online shoe shopping, you definitely won't be disappointed after searching Bebe's site.

CHEAP CHIC

I think this is the time for many of us to let our inner shopping-savvy siren scream. Did you scream? Because this next bit of news might interest you.

I recently came across Editor's Closet for the first time today and could not believe I've gone so long without knowing it's existance. I will not let the same thing happen to you, so I decided to share it's magnificance with those NOT in the know.

For those that don't know, Editor's Closet is like Rue La La in the States - they sell designer apparel and accessories at a fraction of the cost but unlike the latter, Canadians can actually benefit from the savings that Editor's Closet offers (it's about time, right?). It's basically a treasure chest for online shoppers. You can find anything from Stella McCartney to Fendi, but you have to act fast. Sales are exclusive to members only and are open for 48 hours.

HAIR TO THE RESCUE

I have never been one who could style hair very well. Usually, I keep it simple. On a regular, day-to-day basis, it's left naturally curly with some leave-in conditioner and de-frizz products. When I go out, I straighten (using the same products). That's the extent of my hair ritual. Teasing doesn't work out for me and waves usually look crimped. When I want drama, I go to the hair salon for professional help.

I always marvel at girls who can easily style their hair, which is why I gravitate towards magazines and blogs that offer help for hair-illiterate girls like me. Refinery29 offers simple instructions on how to create this season's trend in waves, ponytails and teasing with tools and products found in any drugstore or beauty supply store.

Obviously, practice makes perfect but hopefully, these helpful hints will move me from a hair distaster to a hair master.....Ok, maybe I'm reaching for the stars here, but a girl can dream, right?

MOODY MONDAYS

After a busy and fun-filled weekend, today was spent mostly lounging around. Saturday was spent at the Rush concert in downtown T.O. (Yes, RUSH! I have don't know their songs, but I have heard of the band). I went to the concert on a whim with some of my favourite ladies and had little-to-no expectations on what the night to bring. Surprisingly, I had a great time (especially when we found the bar).

Sunday was spent at the annual Colombian festival on St. Clair. I always look forward to this because it's the only time I eat Colombian food. Empanadas, Chorizos and Arepa con Chocolo are my favourite. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures because it was raining, but here you'll get an idea of the food:

So after very little sleep over the weekend, today was spent re-charging my batteries. I woke up pretty exhausted, which is why the following pic is fitting for this post:

They say you can judge the rest of your week with how you spent your Monday. I hope your Monday was filled with lots of love and laughter to make Tuesday through Sunday just the same ;)
